Electron Configurations in Atoms (Ground States) (III)
He (ground state) = 1s2, Li (g.s.) = 1s22s, Be 1s22s2, B = 1s22s22p, C = 1s22s22p2, N = 1s22s22p3, O = 1s22s22p4, F = 1s22s22p5, Ne = 1s22s22p6.
B’s 2p electron might be m? =1, or -1, or zero, and C’s two electrons could have m? values of (-1,+1) or (-1,0) or (-1,-1) (the same if the first is 0 or +1). BUT, if -1,-1, then one electron has to be spin up, the other spin down.
