Partial Differentiation

If f(x,y) is a function of two variables, x and y, then

$$\left ( \frac{\partial f(x,y)}{\partial y} \right )_x = \lim_{h \rightarrow 0} \frac{f(x,y+h)-f(x,y)}{h}$$

which itself is a function of x and y.
